Enhancing the Superpowered experience with a new design system
Overview
Superpowered were growing quickly and recognised the need to iterate rapidly on their feature set. To help internal teams build efficiently, they asked Friendly to create a scalable design system and consult on their overall UX/UI.

We started with a thorough audit of Superpowered’s product design, suggesting refinements that would improve the existing user experience without reinventing the product. We then built a robust, scalable design system that the team could use as a single point of truth.

Shape & Border
We reviewed the size and corner radius of all components to ensure they were optically perfect. The new approach gave the product a more modern aesthetic, matching the latest MacOS, and a more purposeful, polished look & feel.
Typography
Although the font stack remained the same, we tweaked the size and weight of the typography styles to ensure that text was always legible and there was a clear content hierarchy throughout.
Colour Palette
We worked within the established brand palette to improve how colour can make the product a more engaging and accessible user experience.
Light or dark, modular and flexible
We created an atomic design system that allowed the Superpowered team to instantly preview designs in different themes and layouts.
